The architecture of the roofing is to express the central meaning of the "Bustreff Bocholt". The form was developed for this challenge and the special structural requirements, both of which led to hanging the roofing from a tall pylon, a prominent urban planning element, which could be erected on top of the existing 2-storey underground car park without loosing any parking spaces.
The pylon with its signal effect offers orientation in the urban structure. An effective urban planning connection has been made to the city centre by extending the roofing towards Crispinusplatz.
To fulfil the functional and constructive conditions the roof was conceived as a steel tension cable construction. The wave form of the roof mirrors the dynamics of the bus meeting point.
